Vicki began her grooming career in 1983, working under experienced groomers at a local grooming shop. In 1984, she started Animal Ark Pet Shop which successfully grew into one of the largest boarding, grooming, daycare facilities in Cincinnati. She has had the pleasure of training, working with, and learning from a variety of groomers over the years. In 2013, Vicki chose to leave the kennel business and begin a new adventure with her daughter, Kayla. Both Vicki and Kayla continue their education by attending workshops and seminars.
Kayla has worked for the family business most of her life. She has experience in handling pets of all sizes and personalities and has held positions such as kennel attendant, daycare director, receptionist, and manager. Her grooming career began in 2011 when she began grooming schnauzers in need of adoption for a local schnauzer rescue. In 2012, Vicki and Kayla worked together to perfect her skills of other breeds. Kayla attended The National Cat Groomers Institute of America in August of 2013 and earned her title as the 9th Certified Feline Master Groomer in the state of Ohio. Her ambitious personality is what drives her to continue her studies in the pet grooming industry.
Nicole joined our team February 2019. Her passion for animals began when she was very young. In 2013, she had the opportunity to attend a 2 year program in Veterinary science and also had an internship at a local veterinary hospital. In 2015, she graduated as a certified vet assistant. She continued her career as a play director/bather at Puppywood Pet Resort. She brings with her experience with bathing and handling dogs of all sizes. She is currently head of the bathing department and hopes to eventually learn the art of grooming
Stephanie joined our grooming team 2019. She has over 10 years of retail experience in the pet industry but realized in 2016 that her real interest was to work hands on, caring and beautifying doggies of all kinds. Stephanie is always looking to expand her knowledge of the art of grooming and spends her downtime in forums, online seminars, and listening to pet centered podcasts. While every dog is special, she has a soft spot for poodles, spaniels, schnauzers and doodles
